01 · Basic info
Four-engine business jet developed as a private venture and also ordered by the US Air Force as the C-140, the first business jet to enter service when the first civil example was delivered in early 1961. Production aircraft are powered by four Pratt & Whitney JT12A turbojets mounted in pairs on the rear fuselage. The turbojet version remained in production until 1973, and many were later converted with Garrett TFE731 turbofans as the JetStar 731.
